PRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY
American Sensors Corp (ASC) was founded in 1993 as a Pittsburgh-based
manufacturer of sensors and systems technologies. The company presently specializes
in electrical-electronic installations of systems for the techniques and processes
of steel melt shops, continuous casters, and rolling mills worldwide. ASC also conducts
research and design studies for the continuous development of metals industry technology.
ASC benefits from an extremely complete and comprehensive program benefiting from
years of experience, as well as constant adaptability of this program to meet the
growing and changing needs of the metals industries.

STURDY DESIGNS:
One of the essential characteristics of our sensors and systems
is their especially sturdy design. All sensors and
systems are mounted in mill-duty enclosures with standard water-cooling and positive
pressure air purging. ASC sensors and systems are built to resist the harsh environmental
conditions found in steel mills and other materials processing plants. High performance
optical and electronic components are used throughout our sensors. ASC maintains
its own, first-class facilities for production, calibration, quality control, and
process simulation.

- Detection of hot or cold products (presence) at specific locations
for tracking throughout the plant
- Temperature measurements even in furnaces and through steam and
in the presence of scale and changing surface emissivity
- Positioning of loops, edges on roller tables or between stands
(strip or bar) front and back of plates/beams at crop shear
- Dimensional measurements such as:
- length, width, height, thickness, diameter, profile
- speed, flatness
